Location: Littleton, CO (Onsite)
Contract Length: 6-12 months with option to extend
Requirements:
- Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance as a condition and continuation of employment
- Security+ Certification
- Lead all efforts related to the design, maintenance, and administration of multiple classified database technologies
- Recommend then implement new database solutions, products, and/or standards in support of program goals & operations
- Evaluate, install and test database management systems (DBMS) upgrades and patches for DBMS software, application software, and other software related to DBMS administration
- Work with the system administrators for hardware and software installations and configurations, participate in the evaluation and recommendation of appropriate hardware and software resources for databases
- Support program requests - data copies across environments, data cleanup, query tuning, etc.
- Support projects/initiatives related to data acquisition, processing, and utilization through Big Data Platform
- Work with end users to identify and resolve issues
- Analyze current business practices, processes and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities
- Participate in 24/7 on-call support, as needed
- Strong experience administering Oracle database technologies
- Strong experience with Oracle products
- Experience applying security patches and upgrades
- Experience with addressing database outages
- Experience maintaining SQL databases
- Oracle DB Certification
- Oracle RAC experience
- Orcale RMAN experience
- Familiarity with Redis or other key-value stores
- Familiarity with Java Database interfaces (JDBC, Hibernate)
- Familiarity with working in Containerized (Docker, Kubernetes) environments
- Experience with maintaining high availability production databases
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (ex: Ansible)
- Experience with Database architecture and design
- Familiarity with migrating on-prem databases to a cloud
- Experience with tuning and optimizing databases and queries
- Familiarity with Atlassian tool-suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket)
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated Agile Development methodology experience
- Proven experience with database performance tuning techniques, and the ability to effectively communicate solutions with stakeholders, as well as apply them
- Understanding of Information Security (INFOSEC) and Information Assurance (IA) policies such as ICD503 to ensure system security and data integrity
- Experience with database scripting languages
- Experience with general scripting languages
- Proficiency with multiple operating systems (Unix, Linux, Windows)
