E-Commerce Integration Manager (Back-End API)

We are looking for an experienced E-Commerce Integration Manager to join our team at DSTNC. The ideal candidate will have an intermediate background in both RESTful API and API management as well as experience reading and troubleshooting in Python, JavaScript, and related technologies. This position will have the responsibility of maintaining APIs for our products and services.

The E-Commerce Integration Manager will also be expected to provide technical and business analysis to ensure the APIs are delivering the desired results. The successful candidate will understand API design, including the principles of REST, JSON and OAuth and be comfortable working with databases and web technologies. You should also be able to work with a variety of stakeholders to ensure that the APIs are meeting the needs of our customers. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role. Responsibilities:

• Managing and troubleshooting APIs to which provide access to DSTNC's core data retrieval and service offering
• Creating detailed API documentation to enable third-party developers to easily integrate with DSTNC's platform
• Creating and maintaining API client libraries to provide an easy-to-use interface for third-party developers
• Tracking API performance metrics and working to improve the stability, scalability, and availability of the APIs
• Monitoring API usage to identify trends and anticipate customer needs
• Collaborating with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand customer needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
• Project Management: In addition to your technical expertise, you will leverage your project management skills to plan, coordinate, and execute API-related projects from inception to completion
• Working closely with vendors (brand partners) to integrate their systems with our system
• Gathering requirements, providing technical guidance, and ensuring smooth integration and onboarding processes
• Supporting and addressing any integration-related issues
• Error Handling and Reconciliation: Ability to handle and resolve payment-related errors, including issues with transaction processing, refunds, chargebacks, and reconciliation
• Implementing appropriate error-handling mechanisms and ensuring accurate financial reporting and reconciliation processes

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience managing and maintaining APIs and RESTful APIs
• Proven track record of managing web services
• Experience with Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, and other e-commerce back-end interfaces is strongly preferred
• Familiarity of API integration with payment gateways i.e., experience integrating APIs with payment gateways, such as PayPal, Stripe, Braintree, or other popular payment service providers
• Understanding the necessary steps and considerations involved in securely handling payment transactions through APIs
• In-depth knowledge of web technologies, including XML/JSON, web security, authentication/authorization protocols
• Good understanding of relational databases and NoSQL databases
• Experience in partnering with front-end developers and designers on collaborating on development of backend services in support of them
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Proficient in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, Ruby, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field or related experience
