Description
Program Description:

The Positive Path Program is a 5-month career exploration and development training program. It offers participants exposure to City of Winston-Salem professions and networking opportunities with external program partners in various professions including areas of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). While in the program, participants can also earn professional certifications and pursue educational goals. Job shadowing and apprenticeship opportunities vary per session.

To be eligible to participate in this program, applicants MUST meet the following criteria:

Must be 16-24 years of age.
Must live in Winston-Salem, NC.
Must be willing to register for Selective Services
In addition to the above requirements, applicants must be at least ONE of the following:
- A 16 or 17-year old high school dropout for 6 months or more; AND/OR
- A former justice-involved individual, AND/OR
- A child of a justice-involved parent, AND/OR
- A current or former foster youth; AND/OR
- A low-income youth.
Pass a City-sponsored Drug Test and Background Check.
Be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to work 20 hours a week (Monday-Thursday)
