Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in California, requiring 3+ years of nursing experience and specialization across general, ortho, vascular, trauma, and neuro surgical cases.

Job Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting,
• Surgical specialties include general, orthopedic, vascular, trauma, and neuro cases,
• Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM,
• On-call required on an as-needed basis,
• Every other weekend required,
• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active CA RN license required,
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS,
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required,
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required,
• Ability to scrub and circulate surgical cases,
• Must be able to work with bodily fluids and substances, make fine sound discrimination, and handle emergency or crisis situations,
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration,
• This position is classified OSHA Risk Category I (High Risk),

Additional Information

• Plans, manages, and coordinates professional nursing care for surgical patients in both scrub and circulating roles,
• Directs and supervises ancillary nursing personnel and collaborates with the full health care team,
• Maintains AORN standards of professional nursing practice,
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates,
• Former employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler,
• Only 1 holiday RTO request will be approved for the duration of the assignment
