Associate Medical Director, Family PracticeCompensation: $231,000 – $300,000 annually (based on experience)**Relocation Assistance available**Job Type: Full-time, Mondays to Fridays 8-5 PM or 4 day (10 hour shift available).Location: Greater Sacramento area, CA (Multiple locations available)We are seeking a full-time Associate Medical Director of Family Practice to provide both clinical leadership and direct patient care within a community health center setting. This role partners closely with the Chief Medical Officer to oversee quality improvement, provider performance, workflow optimization, and strategic initiatives, while maintaining an active outpatient practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a Family Practice leader who is passionate about serving underserved communities and advancing clinical excellence in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain advanced clinical expertise in Family Practice aligned with current guidelines and standards of careMonitor clinician performance using established quality metrics and peer review processesAssist with annual provider evaluations and performance development plansDevelop and implement improvement strategies for clinicians or sites needing performance enhancementReview, update, and develop Family Practice policies, procedures, workflows, and EHR templatesOversee referral utilization and establish standardized referral processes to improve specialty accessCollaborate with executive leadership on clinical strategy and operational prioritiesEnsure compliance with legal, regulatory, and credentialing requirementsPromote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high-quality careProvide comprehensive outpatient Family Practice care, including acute, chronic, and preventive servicesPerform thorough evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and referralsDeliver culturally competent, patient-centered careSupport care coordination and patient engagement effortsMaintain productivity standards while ensuring high-quality clinical outcomesReview labs, consults, and patient messages in a timely mannerComplete accurate documentation, coding, and billing within required timeframesMaintain ongoing continuing education and licensure requirementsQualificationsMinimum 3 years of recent outpatient primary care experiencePrior leadership or management experience preferredFQHC or community health center experience preferredMD or DO from an accredited medical school with completion of an accredited Family Practice residencyBoard Certified in Family PracticeActive, unrestricted California medical licenseUnrestricted ability to obtain Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other payer credentialingCurrent BLS certification (ACLS or PALS desirable)Comfortable treating three patients per hourEPIC experienceIn-basket management competencyBenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision Insurance (multiple PPO plan options available)403(b) retirement plan with up to 4% employer match and immediate vestingUp to 4 weeks of PTO in first year (based on hours worked)7 paid holidays + 1 floating holidayEmployer-paid life insurance and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Flexible Spending Accounts (Health & Dependent Care)Malpractice and tail coverage provided at no costAnnual CME reimbursement (including licensing/certifications) plus up to 1 week of paid CME timeTuition reimbursement
