Oncology Registered Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to oncology patients. This position involves administering chemotherapy and IV fluids, assessing patient conditions, and collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and IV fluids via peripherally inserted central catheters.
• Identify, assess, and diagnose patient health problems through assessment and interactions.
• Educate patients and families about post-discharge care programs.
• Initiate patient care meetings with the healthcare team to revise care plans as needed.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic patient care environment.
• Provide guidance and direction to members of the healthcare team.
• Participate in educational programs to stay current in nursing care advances.
• Orient and educate new staff on nursing techniques and departmental procedures.
• Document patient care accurately in health care records.
• Ensure effective and safe infusion services for oncology patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
• At least one (1) year of oncology experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Must obtain OCN certification within one year of hire.

Schedule

This position offers a day shift, operating from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
