Covia is looking for a dynamic Mechanic employee who will positively impact the Operations team at its Junction City, GA location. The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:

• Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on production equipment and takes corrective action.
• Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
• Examines, tests, and measures products from assigned equipment for quality specifications, using gauges and instruments, and records data on appropriate forms.
• Makes preventive maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment, report findings to supervisor, and takes appropriate action.
• Examine defects, analyzes equipment failure causes, and, where possible, takes corrective action.
• Analyze and record the cause of production delays on daily maintenance reports.
• Conveyer Belt Repair and Regular Maintenance Clean, repair, and rebuild pumps, cylinders, solenoids, and air valves.
• Other duties as assigned Required to be on call on a rotating basis.

The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

• Knowledge of Bearings
• Ambitious and self-motivated worker
• Able to prioritize work schedule to execute in order of importance
• Must be able to cut and weld (stick, mig, oxy/act, plasma, etc.)
• Electrical experience is preferred
• Must be available to be on-call
• Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools, read blueprints, service bulletins, etc.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts or stay over shift if needed.
