Supports the execution of the M&A strategy within defined markets in collaboration with market / client development and Mercers other businesses by establishing and maintaining of appropriate market contacts to ensure awareness of market and client issues; interacting with financial and HR executives C-Suite members (i.e. CEO COO CFO) and other members of the business community; developing one-on-one relationships with clients and prospects to match their challenges with Mercer solutions leading to cross-LOB sales and revenue; and implements best practices in M&A processes.

Serves as a strategic M&A advisor to the client during engagments to ensure the clients business objectives are supported by people practices.

Contributes to initiatives within the M&A business as assigned; develops and shares new M&A intellectual capital and marketing material; prepares periodic reports and analyses used to plan and manage the M&A consulting services business; assures personal and team compliance with M&A policies and to Mercers M&A market presence by writing articles cases studies and general marketing material in addition to public speaking.

The M&A professional oversees the work of M&A project managers; consultants and coordinators. The M&A professional may have full authority for people management that includes but not limited to hiring discipling and firing employees; conducting performance evaluations and career development discussions; making appropriate salary & bonus decisions; and ensure appropriate orientation and on-going education/training.

Serves as M&A Market Leader based on needs of the business.

All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one anchor day per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $236000 to $354000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience skills training location certifications education and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case addition to the base salary this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
