Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide high-quality nursing care to high-risk obstetric patients on a busy Labor and Delivery unit. Work collaboratively with medical teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Administer patient assessments, perform examinations, and provide comprehensive care for obstetric patients.
• Manage high-risk cases such as C-sections, magnesium sulfate protocols, and antepartum monitoring.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse aides, and scrub techs to coordinate patient care and support smoothly functioning unit operations.
• Maintain adherence to safety and clinical standards, including certification requirements like ACLS, NRP.
• Document patient data accurately in Meditech and GE systems, ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient needs and facilitating positive patient experiences.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with recent labor and delivery experience in a fast-paced setting.
• High-risk obstetric experience, including C-sections and antepartum management.
• Current certifications: ACLS and NRP required; RN-C preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform thorough exams and assessments independently.
• Strong communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to work night shifts and weekends as part of a rotating schedule.
