Sommelier

Marlow East, a modern American restaurant in the heart of the Upper East Side, is seeking an experienced Sommelier to join our team. Our wine program features a thoughtfully curated global selection with an emphasis on elegance, balance, and seamless pairing with our seasonal à la carte menu.

We are looking for a hospitality-driven professional with strong wine knowledge, exceptional guest engagement skills, and a genuine passion for creating memorable dining experiences. This role is integral to maintaining and continuing to develop a beverage program that complements our culinary vision.

Requirements:

– Previous sommelier or wine service experience in an upscale or fine dining restaurant

– Extensive knowledge of wine regions, varietals, producers, and food pairings

– Strong tableside presence and excellent communication skills

– Passion for hospitality, guest satisfaction, and collaborative teamwork

– Ability to manage wine inventory, cellar organization, and assist with staff wine education

– NYC Food Protection Certificate required or the ability to obtain one within the required timeframe

– Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS), WSET, or another recognized formal wine certification is required
