Senior Accountant – St. Joseph, MI (Fully Onsite)
Salary: $90,000 – $100,000
Our client, a well-established and growing family-owned company in the St. Joseph, Michigan area, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional looking to make an impact in a collaborative environment that values innovation, teamwork, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP principles
- Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting
- Partner with leadership to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
- Support multi-entity accounting activities, including exposure to or coordination with foreign entities/international operations
- Utilize ERP systems such as Oracle and/or SAP to manage financial data and reporting
- Leverage technology and AI-driven tools/process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy
- Assist with audits, compliance requirements, and regulatory reporting
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and executive leadership teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with Oracle and/or SAP strongly preferred
- Exposure to AI tools, automation, or technology-driven accounting processes highly desired
- Experience working with or understanding foreign entities/international accounting is a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
