Critical Care/Trauma Physician Assistant

Locums - Columbia, South Carolina, Physician Assistant Trauma Surgery Opening

Start Date: 7/20/26Assignment Duration: 13 weeks

Schedule & Shift Details:

• 11-hour day shifts
• 7:00am-6:00pm
• Day shifts only
• Minimum of 3 consecutive shifts preferred
• Ideally 7 shifts in a row (7 on / 7 off schedule preferred)

Practice Setting:

• Trauma Surgery coverage
• Adult trauma surgery focus
• Locum provider expected to assist with receiving trauma transfers from outside facilities
• Burn patients transferred out to higher level burn centers

Patient Volume & Population:

• Approximately 10-12 patients per shift
• Primarily adult patients
• Occasional pediatric trauma patients

EMR: Epic

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Trauma Surgery - Required
• Active South Carolina license - Required
• ACLS - Required
• BLS - Required
• ATLS - Required
• PALS - Required
• Clean background - Required
• Willing to license candidates, though strongly prefer already licensed providers due to privileging timeline

Credentialing Timeframe:

• Approximately 60 days with active South Carolina license
• Approximately 90-120 days without South Carolina license
