Qualifications Education/Certification: High School diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills: Proficient in handling highly confidential matters Keyboarding skills Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to follow written instructions Ability to operate multi-line phone system Respect for the rights and confidentiality of others Experience: One year clerical experience in an office setting Major Responsibilities and Duties: Reception and phones: receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages, route to appropriate staff Greet and direct campus visitors Assist parents in checking students in and out of school Receive, sort, and distribute mail, messages, documents, and other deliveries Assist with receipt and distribution of student materials, including homework requests Maintain visitor log and issue visitor passes Professional Conduct: Remain calm and withstand pressures Flexible to changes in routine and adapt quickly to changing situations Reliable attendance and punctuality Respectful, courteous to peers and visitors, assist fellow workers willingly Avoid speaking ill of the district and district personnel Other Responsibilities: Assist in preparing materials for mailing, including labels and envelopes Maintain computerized files, reports, employee roster, and mailing lists Assist with scheduling teacher conferences Provide clerical assistance as neededMaintain confidentiality Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administrator consistent with general requirements Participate in staff development training programs Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: None Working Conditions Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer, copier, printer, and fax machine Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds) Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress Other Details Position Type: Full-Time Salary: $14.56 to $18.20 per hour Job Categories: Support Staff > Receptionist Job Requirements Citizenship, residency, or work visa required Contact Information Michael Williams, Principal, Howard Jr. High School Email: View email address on click.appcast.io #J-18808-Ljbffr Young World Physical Education
