General Manager

Mira is looking for a General Manager to join our team! Mira is a Mediterranean restaurant in the Elmwood Village. The menu highlights the cuisines of Italy, Spain, Greece and other countries that surround the Mediterranean Sea. We have a strong focus on house made pastas, charcoal grilled meats & vegetables and a Mediterranean focused beverage program.

The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for hospitality as well as natural leadership skills. They need to be energetic and comfortable in a fast-paced environment with the goal to provide guests a wonderful experience. The General Manager is responsible for managing the flow of service and assisting the staff with anything they should need.

Our service style is understated. We strive to give excellent service while maintaining a fun and lively dining room. The service at Mira is focused on professionalism, attention to detail and seamless execution.

Responsibilities

• Hiring/Training/Onboarding all Front of House employees
• Create & Manage Front of House schedules
• Answer emails daily/book reservations & private events
• Have full comprehension of the food & drink menus to be prepared for any guests questions or needs
• Execute service with efficiency to create an overall positive guest experience
• Editing and printing menus on InDesign
• Order/taking inventory of all paper good products & miscellaneous needs
• Leading & maintaining a positive work environment
• Managing regular dinner service along with private events when needed
• Anticipate guests needs and have guest recognition
• Walk/move around the restaurant for the majority of scheduled shift
• Working along side the chef/owners to continuously improve the restaurant experience & meet financial goals
• Mira is open Tuesday-Saturday. This availability is required (approximately 55 hr/week)

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry with written references
• Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations
• Strong wine and spirit knowledge
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff and guests
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
