Job Title: Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical / Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour PM-AM Hours per Shift: 11.5 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of equivalent experience required License: RN License or Compact License (Proof of State Residency Required) Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 previous travel assignments completed - Experience with post-surgical drains - Central line care/maintenance - Foley insertion - Experience with G tubes, J tubes, NG tubes, PEG tubes - IV medication administration/IV push - Wound care - O2 therapy Description: Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse needed for a 27-bed unit. This unit cares for inpatients with a variety of medical conditions and post-operative patients. The patient population primarily consists of elderly patients but can include adults as young as 18. Common diagnoses include post-operative orthopedic cases, general surgery, alcohol withdrawal, congestive heart failure, and pneumonia. RN Patient Ratios are 5:1. LNA Patient Ratios are 3:1. Every other weekend and rotating holidays are required. Telemetry experience and familiarity with Epic software are preferred.
