Successful candidates will have knowledge of the sport and will demonstrate effective coaching technique, leadership and mentoring skills; the ability to relate well within the school community; and the desire to provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship and high standards. Qualifications Prior successful coaching experience, preferably at the high school and/or college level Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills A strong character with a team-oriented spirit, and the ability to connect meaningfully with students throughout our diverse community Considerable knowledge of and experience coaching that sport, including competitions, practices, and strength/conditioning Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work High school or collegiate playing experience Experience working with middle and high school-aged students A positive student-centered approach to coaching Demonstrated technical, theoretical, and applied knowledge pertinent to the assigned sport CPR and first aid certified or the ability to become certified.
