Senior Software Engineer

Salary: $102,200 - 189,800 per year Requirements:

• We need 3-5 years of full-stack application development experience.
• We need experience designing, building, testing, and supporting multi-service backend systems and frontend interfaces for mission-driven analytical or operational capabilities.
• We need hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and capability development, including proof-of-concept workflows, REST APIs, microservices, or decision-support tools.
• We need at least three years of experience with Java in the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot.
• We need at least three years of experience with Python.
• We need at least three years of experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern component-based framework such as React.
• We need at least three years of experience with SQL for relational data modeling, schema design, migration management, and data extraction or transformation.
• We need at least three years of experience with Docker.
• We need at least three years of experience with Git or GitHub.
• We need the ability to handle sensitive, confidential, or regulated data in line with applicable policies.
• We need the ability to communicate directly with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
• We need the ability to work independently and collaboratively across technical and cross-functional teams.
• We need experience working with modern software development practices, including shared repositories, version control, automated testing, containerization, documentation, and iterative delivery.
• We need the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. National Security Clearance.
• We require U.S. citizenship to meet federal contract and agency requirements.
• Preferred: experience supporting DoD, intelligence community, or other government R&D programs.
• Preferred: experience with data modeling and management across the full data lifecycle, including ingestion, transformation, validation, and storage.
• Preferred: experience with container orchestration platforms, especially Kubernetes, and Helm charts.
• Preferred: experience with AI development tools and LLM APIs such as Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or AWS Bedrock.
• Preferred: experience building applications that use LLM generation, retrieval-augmented generation, or vector embedding workflows.
• Preferred: experience with ETL/ELT pipeline design, vector search indexing, object storage, and schema migration tooling.
• Preferred: experience with machine learning concepts and frameworks, especially embeddings, semantic similarity, and nearest-neighbor retrieval in production systems.
• Preferred: experience supporting national security missions or other sensitive, mission-critical operational environments.

• We enhance and maintain existing applications.
• We work with analytical staff to gather requirements, generate ideas, and produce documentation.
• We demo new software solutions when needed.
• We partner with data scientists and data engineers to build advanced capabilities and prototype new applications.
• We develop and deploy software that applies advanced ML and AI capabilities to mission and operational problem areas.
• We contribute to internal innovation through research and development, shared capabilities, technical growth, and business development support such as proof-of-concepts and capability briefings.
