ICU Registered Nurse

The ICU Registered Nurse provides critical care to patients facing life-threatening conditions. The nurse is responsible for managing patients with respiratory failure, cardiac issues, multi-organ failure, and sepsis. This position entails pre and post-operative care for cardiac, thoracic, and abdominal surgeries. Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary in a multidisciplinary team. The role requires floating within service line as needed to meet facility needs. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. The nurse must maintain patient safety and follow strict infection control protocols. Participants will engage with advanced monitoring equipment and techniques in a fast-paced environment.

The ICU Registered Nurse must have:

• Medical Intensive Care Unit experience
• Surgical Intensive Care Unit experience
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Proficiency in obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG
• Central Venous Pressure Monitoring
• Pulmonary Artery Line monitoring
• Management of renal failure
• Arterial line management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care/management
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Continuous IV sedation
• Administration of emergency medications
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Care of ventilated patients
• Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions
• Phlebotomy capabilities
