Your new role


We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of two retail shopping centers in San Diego County, totaling nearly 1 million square feet. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for property operations, tenant relations, vendor management, budgeting, capital projects, security, risk management, and overall property performance.

You will play a key role in a large-scale, multi-phase redevelopment project, partnering closely with ownership, construction, and design teams to ensure the property remains fully operational throughout construction. This position offers significant visibility and the opportunity to influence operational strategy, financial performance, and tenant experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading on-site teams and third-party service providers
• Managing property operations, maintenance, security, and landscaping programs
• Building strong relationships with retail tenants and community stakeholders
• Developing and managing operating and capital budgets
• Overseeing contract negotiations, vendor performance, and capital improvements
• Supporting financial reporting, forecasting, and expense management
• Conducting regular property inspections and ensuring compliance with company standards
• Partnering with internal teams to support leasing, marketing, and redevelopment initiatives

What you'll need to succeed

• 8+ years of commercial real estate property management experience
• Strong retail property or shopping center management experience preferred
• Proven experience managing multiple properties and operating budgets
• Experience with vendor management, service contracts, capital projects, and facility operations
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L accountability
• Ability to build relationships with tenants, contractors, and internal stakeholders
• Experience supporting redevelopment, construction, or major capital improvement projects is highly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, or a related field preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with property management systems and Microsoft Office
