Job Summary

The Laundry aide is responsible for providing quality laundry services while supporting resident care needs in a skilled nursing facility. This position ensures residents’ clothing, linens, and personal items are properly cleaned, organized, and distributed while maintaining infection control standards and assisting nursing staff as needed.

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens.
• Label and organize residents’ personal clothing to prevent loss or mix-ups.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of laundry equipment and work areas.
• Follow all infection control, OSHA, and safety procedures.
• Monitor laundry supplies and report shortages or equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Complete documentation as required by facility policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in laundry services or long-term care preferred.
• Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift, carry, and push laundry carts and supplies.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassionate and professional attitude toward elderly and disabled residents.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, detergents, and cleaning chemicals.

• Skilled nursing and long-term care facility setting.
• May include weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
