Maintenance Technician I

Non-Exempt

Flagship is seeking a Maintenance Technician with trade and painting skills to join one of our clients full time in the DFW area. As a representative for our company, you will be performing non-technical general building maintenance and minor repairs.

Schedule: Shift rotation

*on call rotation and working some afterhours events

M-F 0700-1530

S-Th (Sunday) 0600-1430 and M-Th 0700-1530

Essential Functions

• Preparation of surfaces to receive paint and other finishes and treatments
  
• Interior and exterior wall painting and repair; door and window frame painting
  
• Wallpaper removal and wall board repair
  
• Tape and mud drywall
  
• Match paint and texture
  
• Furniture refinishing, painting and staining
  
• Ceiling grid and tile painting
  
• Epoxy painting
  
• Building paint log set up
  
• Able to patch and sand in a timely and efficient manner
  
• Able to safely use powered equipment such as paint sprayers, power washers, gas powered blowers.
  
• Able and willing to clean all equipment including brushes, rollers, spray rigs, cup guns, texturing hoppers
  
• Strong customer service skills
  
• Performs general building maintenance under close supervision.
  
• Performs grounds, maintenance, and minor repair work. (including minor floor work such as tile, carpet, and baseboard repair)
  
• Performs general labor work as assigned by the Hills Church, including loading, uploading, and moving materials and running errands for the project.
  
• Minor furniture repair, assembly, installation; will include lifting and moving heavy furniture using appropriate safety precautions.
  
• Replace light bulbs/lamps and clean fixtures
  
• Responds quickly to emergency situations and customer concerns.
  
• Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and practicing safe work habits.
  
• Must maintain a neat appearance.
  
• Continuously seeks opportunities to improve the customer experience.
  

• Follows safety and sanitation procedures with all guidelines from OSHA, Department of Public Health and Risk Management.
  
• Other duties as assigned.

• May be only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime type assignments); may require shift work and/or on call duties.
  

Education and Work Experience:

• 2+ years general maintenance experience or trade certification; High School or GED preferred
  

Work Environment
The work environment includes the following elements and exposures:
Small-to-large work environment. Safety glasses required while performing certain tasks. Fast paced work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments. Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Constant use of hand when handling and fingering hand and power tools and, when handling small items such as screws, bolts, etc. Occasional keying, typing, and writing. Constant grasping, pushing, pulling, and rotating body. Frequent lifting and carrying objects more than 40 lbs. Item weighing over 40 lbs. must be carried by two (2) people. Constant reaching across, above, and outward in work area to fix equipment. Frequent pushing and pulling objects weighing over 40 lbs. Items weighing over 40 lbs. must be push/pull by two people or with appropriate machinery. Good or correctable vision is required to safely perform all duties. Occasional standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, balancing and beck usage-flexing.
