Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher at the middle school level. Multiple contract positions are available near Thornton, CO, engaging learners with a variety of needs in structured, supportive environments. Assignments may be at one or two campuses, with full-time schedules of 37.5 hours per week.

Two positions are open:

• Northglenn Middle School: Full-time Learning Services, mild-moderate caseload, serving grades consistent with a middle school setting. This assignment runs from 9/23 for seven weeks.
• Rocky Top Middle School: Full-time role split as 0.5 SSN Teacher (Significant Support Needs, assisting students with notable cognitive or communicative disabilities) and 0.5 Learning Specialist (mild-moderate needs). Will also consider applicants for SSN-only at half-time. This opening starts immediately and extends until Winter Break.

Applicants should hold an active Colorado DOE Teacher License with Special Education Generalist (Ages 5-21) Endorsement. Thorough time-sensitive credentialing, including fingerprinting, will be required before your start date as part of the district’s onboarding process. References should be uploaded as part of your application to meet district requirements.

Qualifications:

• Active Colorado DOE Teacher License with appropriate Special Education Endorsement
• Experience with middle school-aged students preferred
• Experience supporting mild-moderate or significant needs populations
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learner profiles

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction and support for learners’ academic, social, and behavioral growth
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed
• Maintain compliance with district and state guidelines
