We are looking for an experienced Combo Mig & Flux Core Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in gas metal arc welding (GMAW/Mig) and Flux Core welding (Fcaw), working with carbon steel materials. This role requires the ability to produce strong, durable welds while meeting project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Mig, Flux welding on structural components and metal parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols for fabrication.
• Set up and operate welding equipment, making adjustments for different materials.
• Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and structural integrity.
• Prepare metal surfaces by grinding, cutting, and cleaning before welding.
• Follow all safety protocols, including wearing PPE and maintaining a hazard-free work area.
• Work collaboratively with fabricators, engineers, and production staff.
• Routine maintenance and troubleshooting of welding equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required

Skills

• Proven experience as a Mig / Flux welder (minimum 5 years preferred).
• Ability to work with thick metals and heavy-duty materials.
• Proficiency in using grinders, saws, and measuring tools.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints - REQUIRES STRUCTURAL FITTING
• Knowledge of welding safety standards and procedures.
• Welding certification (AWS, ASME) is a plus - must PASS 2 welding tests on plate steel, uphill 3G, Mig and Flux core process administered by hiring entity.
• Must have basic hand tools, welding hood, square, crescent wrench, ball peen hammer, tape measure, etc.
• Perform and understand basic math equations.

Physical Requirements

• Standing: Must be able to stand for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift).
• Lifting: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly; occasionally lift heavier loads with assistance
• Bending & Stooping: Frequent bending, kneeling, and stooping to access work areas.
• Climbing: May be required to climb ladders or work on elevated surfaces.
• Repetitive Motions: Use of hands and arms in repetitive welding motions.
• Manual Dexterity: Fine motor skills for precise welding, handling tools, and operating equipment.
• Vision: Good hand-eye coordination and vision (corrective lenses allowed), including depth perception and peripheral vision.
• Hearing: Ability to hear warning signals and communicate effectively in a noisy environment.
• Endurance: Physically able to work in hot, dusty, and sometimes confined spaces for prolonged periods.
• Balance: Ability to maintain body equilibrium when performing tasks at heights or in awkward positions.
