Together, we're improving health and improving lives.LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Support Services Team Leader to join our team at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital - Ozaukee Campus in Mequon, WI.Work Schedule: 1st shift; weekdays 8:30am -5:00pm with rotating weekends and holiday rotationJob Responsibilities:Assist in the supervision of the day to day operations of the core laboratory and blood bank clinical laboratory departmentsPerform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating ProceduresMonitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionalityHelp lead the team in their daily processes and proceduresAssist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testingOversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areasEncourage process improvements and best practicesPerform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracyResolve any production errors as requested by managementResearch and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessaryEngage in continuous process and service level improvementsResponsible for enforcing and managing policies and proceduresPerform administrative duties as neededMinimum Qualifications:Associates degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology4 or more years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) OR 2 or more years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLS)Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology2 years or more of experience as a generalist2 years or more of experience in blood bank1 year or more of experience supervising or leading a teamASCP or AMT certificationAdditional Job Standards:In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirementStrong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulationsUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresExcellent communication skills; both written and verbalStrong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skillsStrong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environmentAbility to handle the physical requirements of the positionAble to pass a standardized color blindness testAre you detail oriented, process focused, and enjoy leading others?
