Join us as we provide Life Changing Medicine to our community.PositionFull-Time Patient Care Technician, Senior Department: Resource Pool Location: UPMC Passavant Shifts: 36 hours/week; rotating shifts (including weekends, overnights, and holidays)Title and rate of pay will be determined based upon individual qualifications, experience, and education. In addition, Resource Pool staff are assigned to different units throughout the hospital and receive a 10% bonus on top of their base rate while active in the pool! The minimum hourly starting rates for each level are as follows:Care Attendant: $18.19Nursing Assistant: $18.59Patient Care Technician: $18.99Patient Care Technician, Senior: $19.19ResponsibilitiesProvide advanced patient care under RN direction, including ADLs, procedures, therapies, and patient monitoringPerform all core PCT competencies, including vital signs, point-of-care testing, telemetry, specimen collection, EKGs, bladder scans, dressings, catheter removal, and restraint application per protocolAssist with unit and patient needs (e.g., responding to call lights, meal delivery, patient transport, and monitoring), including transport of cardiac monitored patientsMaintain a safe, clean, and organized environment while following infection control and safety protocolsMonitor patients and report changes in condition or equipment issues promptlyDocument care accurately and complete clerical functions as neededSupport unit operations and quality initiatives, including participation in projects and department activitiesCommunicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to support coordinated careDemonstrate professionalism by building positive relationships, taking ownership of assignments, and supporting team performance and improvement effortsProvide patient and family education under RN direction and respond to emergent situations as appropriateNote: All competencies must be achieved.
