Make a positive impact every day in a vibrant elementary environment, supporting students as a valued paraprofessional. In this engaging contract role, you’ll work in K–5 classrooms to provide direct academic and behavioral guidance, fostering the success and growth of young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 and small-group academic support to students, helping implement accommodations and IEP goals.
- Participate actively in daily routines, assisting during transitions, classroom time, and supporting hallway movement to create a smooth, structured day for students.
- Encourage positive behavior, following and modeling school behavior plans.
- Supervise students during lunch and recess, ensuring both safety and inclusion.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and special education staff, responding flexibly to classroom needs.
Desired Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED is required; an Associate’s degree, 60+ college credits, or a passing ParaPro Assessment score is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working with K–5 students, in either education or childcare/behavioral support.
- Excellent communication, patience, and a proactive, caring approach.
- Ready to start as soon as onboarding is complete.
The typical workweek is Monday through Friday, following elementary hours (approximately 8:30 AM–3:30 PM), totaling 32.5–35 hours weekly. You’ll enjoy the rewarding challenge of helping children succeed, all while working in a collaborative elementary school setting.
