Day Co. Inc., a respected paving and excavation company that operates in Rockville, Maryland is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. A successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our fleet of heavy‑duty trucks and paving equipment. This role requires someone with a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and has their own set of tools. Flexibility is key, as you have to be available for both day and night shifts. Job Duties Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct routine inspections, diagnose issues, and perform repairs on trucks and related equipment to ensure peak performance. Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime. Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities. Tool Management: Bring and maintain your own set of tools, ensuring they are ready for use at all times. Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company policies during all operations. Collaboration: Work closely with the team to coordinate repairs and support overall fleet management. Requirements Proven 2 years or more experience as a truck or heavy‑duty vehicle mechanic. Must supply your own professional set of tools. Flexibility to work both day and night shifts. Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Excellent communication and time management skills.
