Jack in the Box Assistant Manager: Store 0036 - Carlsbad, CA 92008 - $20.00 - $24.00 / hour - full time Job Description Responsible for managing restaurant operations, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities are to provide excellent internal service, external service, and build restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Key Duties / Responsibilities Internal Service: Recruits, selects, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees. Monitors staffing levels, ensures training systems are fully implemented, develops internal candidates for management and Team Leader positions, and creates a friendly, fun, clean, and safe environment. Motivates employees and recognizes performance. External Service: Manages daily activities to achieve operational excellence. Ensures guests receive exceptional service and product quality, maintains visibility with guests, responds timely to concerns and complaints, and maintains restaurant cleanliness and brand image. Serves as a role model for guest service. Higher Profits: Partners with the Restaurant Manager to use management information tools to analyze performance, identify trends, consult on action plans, and monitor costs and budget adherence. Develops and executes plans to increase sales and profitability. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: Minimum 1 year as Shift Leader or Assistant Manager in a customer‑service environment with full certification; or 3 years as an Assistant Manager with some P&L responsibility. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Minimum 18 years old, Assistant Manager training complete, ServSafe certified, English fluency, basic math, analytical skills, organizational skills, self‑starter, PC proficiency, valid driver’s license and vehicle for bank deposits and travel. Physical Requirements: Stand, walk 85-95% of shift; lift 10-65 lbs; operate equipment and drive a motor vehicle; use computer keyboard.
