POSITION OVERVIEW

The Partnership is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Public Policy & Stakeholder Engagement Associate to help advance the Partnership's work to strengthen government and support the federal workforce. This role will play a key part in executing the Partnership's FedSupport initiative and supporting its Government for a New Era initiative, maintaining relationships with federal alumni, coordinating high-impact events and policy activities, and building meaningful relationships with stakeholders across the federal community. The Associate will help the Policy team respond to the evolving, real-time needs of current and transitioning federal employees while also shaping the future of public policy by coordinating policy dialogues with the Partnership's Federal Community Volunteers and relationships with alumni groups. The Associate may also help with the team's response with timely, newsworthy developments; writing blogs and other content; and interviewing government practitioners. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

• Support the design and planning of policy and practitioner dialogues under the direction of policy leads.
• Assist with managing logistics for focus groups, events, and webinars and provide virtual and/or on-site support during meetings and sessions.
• Conducting research and writing for blogs and other content, including interviewing practitioners for Q&A blogs.
• Coordinate among dispersed internal stakeholders and manage projects with contributors from across the organization.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery while providing exceptional customer service to participants and partners.
• Manage logistics, scheduling, participant communications, and event support for quarterly Federal Alumni Network meetings and related engagement activities.
• Provide administrative support for external communications and/or information and relationship management within our customer relationship database (Salesforce).
• Manage and maintain organizational databases and collaboration platforms, including Asana, SharePoint, and the Political Appointee Tracker.
• Serve as a positive, energetic, knowledgeable representative of the Partnership and our programs and policy work when communicating with federal employees and alumni, interacting with external audiences and providing support to partner facilitators during sessions.
• Assist the Public Policy team – and the Partnership more generally – on all aspects of our work; associates may also work on projects outside of the Policy Team, as needed.

REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent professional work or military experience.
• One to two years of experience, which may include internships.
• Interest and/or experience working on policy research and analysis, encouraging and supporting public servants, project management, and event planning.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite of software, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY/REPORTING STRUCTURE

This position reports to a manager or senior manager on the Public Policy & Stakeholder Engagement team. This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities for staff but may supervise interns.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a hybrid (remote + office) environment in Washington, DC. The successful candidate must be a permanent resident in the Washington, DC, Maryland or Virginia area. The person in this role is expected to work in the office, on average, three days per week – with Wednesday as the required day in-office. This position requires consistent use of office equipment such as computer, telephone, printer/scanner and MS Office.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time exempt position with regular work hours Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET. Occasional evening or weekend activities may be required. Please note the Partnership allows flexibility in work schedules.

TRAVEL

If travel occurs, it is usually during the business day. Some out of the area and/or overnight travel may be required as well.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The starting salary range for this position is $52,500 - $54,500. The Partnership offers a compensation package that includes a competitive salary; medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; long- and short-term disability insurance; a 401(k) program with a 4 percent employer match; opportunities for training and development; commuter benefits; 15 days of annual leave per year, 10 days of sick leave per year, plus all federal holidays and the day after Thanksgiving off; and use of an on-site exercise facility.
