Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

Location: Austin, TX

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to help establish and lead a new sterile compounding laboratory. This is an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician with strong sterile compounding expertise to play a key role in developing workflows, quality systems, and regulatory compliance while delivering high-quality, customized medications.

Responsibilities

Compound prescriptions for accuracy and safety
Supervise sterile compounding technicians and ensure USP <797> compliance, when appropriate
Compound sterile preparations using aseptic technique
Review formulations, calculations, compatibility, stability, and beyond-use dating
Develop and maintain sterile compounding SOPs and quality documentation
Oversee environmental monitoring and cleanroom quality programs
Support process validation, equipment qualification, and regulatory readiness
Collaborate with the pharmacy team to improve workflows and maintain compliance

Qualifications

Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
Sterile compounding experience with strong knowledge of USP <797>
Experience compounding sterile medications from raw active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Schedule

Full-time
Monday-Friday
Rotating Saturdays (half-days)
