Our mission is to empower independent supply stores with best-in-class technology. Think of your local hardware store or mom-and-pop nursery-these are our clients. From paint to lumber to flooring, over 200,000 such stores across the country sell over $1T of building materials annually using outdated, on-premises systems. We're aiming to help them modernize so that they can continue to thrive.

Backed by leading investors including Battery, Bessemer and CRV, we've raised $48M across four rounds and are growing quickly: We're live in over 500 stores across the USA, Canada, and the Caribbean, and integrated with over 20 industry partners. Our team is made up of builders, sellers, and industry veterans with a shared goal: to bring modern technology to an overlooked industry.
What you'll do as a Product Manager Intern at Rundoo

This isn't shadowing or busywork - you'll help scope which new industries Rundoo enters next.

• Market Research: Help define and size the ICP for a new vertical (lumber, flooring, plumbing, auto, and more).
• Field Research: Talk to store owners and operators directly - in person where possible - to understand what actually matters to them.
• Roadmap Support: Translate messy field research into a clear, sequenced set of feature ideas, working directly with our engineering team.
• GTM Research: Help identify the channels, partners, and events that matter for reaching a new industry.
• Pilot Outreach: Support cold outreach to prospective pilot customers in your assigned vertical.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with our CEO, engineering, and GTM teams to keep research grounded in what's buildable and sellable.

Requirements

• Communicative: You can synthesize messy field research into something clear and defensible.
• Resilient: You're comfortable with rejection - a lot of prospects will say no.
• Curious: You're genuinely interested in overlooked, traditional industries.
• Collaborative: You work well across functions, especially with engineering and product.

Transportation and Housing

Our office is about an 8-minute walk from Caltrain, with plenty of housing nearby - and Rundoo will cover the flight from Canada to the U.S.

Compensation

We compensate our Dooers in the top 75th percentile benchmarked against similar sized companies.

Salary: $2,461/week USD (yes, we pay weekly) - annual equivalent is $122,000 USD

This is a brand-new role at Rundoo, so you'll be one of our first product hires. Your closest collaborators:

1. Nick (CEO): studied math & computer science at Stanford; worked as a trader at Bridgewater & Citadel and as a PM at Google & Enigma; sets the industry priorities and the product bar
2. Andrew (CTO): studied computer science & humanities at Stanford, worked as a software engineer at Apple and head of engineering at Anova; danced with the SF ballet (where he met his wife)! ; you'll plan roadmaps with him and his team!
3. Your peer full-time PMs
4. Your peer PM interns
5. The GTM team : assuming you launch successfully, you'll work with Matt and Vidhan to start selling into this new industry.
