You will drive employee engagement and help build a people-first culture, while also supporting recruiting efforts, safety, payroll, benefits, and training functions. A successful candidate will maintain HR compliance, contribute to innovative HR practices, and play a strategic role in ensuring an environment that enables all. This role is based out of our Montgomery, IL distribution center, but does require travel every 4-6 weeks to Eau Claire, WI.Relocation: N/A - Must be local to the areaWork Location: This is an onsite role at our Chicago OpCo, located at 2051 Baseline Road, Montgomery, IL 60538Travel/Training: This role is based out of our Montgomery, IL distribution center, but does require travel every 4-6 weeks to Eau Claire, WI.Work Schedule: This role is 100% onsite in Montgomery IL -- 5 days per week, Monday-Friday normal business hoursSubject to change based on the needs of the businessCompensation: $60k-$65k base salary, depending on experiencePosition Responsibilities:Support onboarding needs and facilitate weekly new hire orientation.Processing biweekly payrollPerforming HRIS data maintenance, including new hire processing and status changes.Administering various HR plans and procedures for all Core-Mark personnel, including pay, benefits, and leave-related processes.Addressing employee inquiries regarding company policies, procedures, and HR programs.Conducting best practice surveys and assisting in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.Providing employee relations support, including conducting investigations.Providing legal support for all active litigation.Conducting regular audits on employee timekeeping records to ensure compliance.Assisting with responses to unemployment claims.Coordinating employee training, employee awards, and other Core-Mark programs.Providing additional support to HR processes across Core-Mark.Performs other related duties as assigned.The ideal candidate should possess the following:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management and multitasking skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong problem-solving skills.Must be able to work both independently and collaborate with others.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Applications will be accepted until 25 applications have been received.
