Human Resources GeneralistReports To: Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, Director of Human Resources and Administrative Assistant for Human ResourcesJob Summary: Provides high-level administrative support. Collaboration, coordination and cooperation with multiple departments within the Valley View School District to ensure alignment with Board of Education and Office of Human Resources objectives in both policies and practice. Provides the highest level of customer service to various constituents within the district: students, families, community members, employees, supervisors, managers, directors and senior leadership.Provides timely and courteous customer service office support.Supports and trains members of the Human Resources office.Provides support to Administrative Assistant for Human Resources for various projects.Coordinates and leads the hiring process for certified or classified roles as designated by direct supervisor.Managing access to various hiring and evaluation platforms.Monitoring of licensure for educational staff for renewal cycles and expiration.Processes tuition reimbursement paperwork including lane changes, as applicable.Processes retirement paperwork for staff, as applicable.Participates in projects to develop and implement human resources policies, programs, or process changes.Supports data retrieval and compilation for collective bargaining.Serves as a role model for all students and perform their duties to create an environment that is conducive to providing students with an enhanced and engaged learning opportunity.Qualifications:Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management preferred from an accredited college or university, or three years of office administration experienceMinimum of high school diploma or G.D. equivalent with at least three years of office administration experience in Human ResourcesExperience: At least 3 years or more of experience in Human Resources, preferredOther Skills and Abilities:Must demonstrate and maintain a high level of confidentiality.Exhibits legal and ethical behavior in their professional practices; follow and implement all District rules, regulations, practices, and policies.Effective communication skills with a high level of sensitivity and tact in person and on the phone.Must possess excellent typing, grammar, and computer skills including all Microsoft Office Suite and Google products.Must be highly organized and be able to work with little or no supervision.Ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple projects and to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Work Environment and Physical Activity:Work is performed in an environment where unusual temperature, noise and hazards are relatively nonexistent; The District offers excellent fringe benefits including life, health and dental insurance.Medical/Vision and Dental coverage through BCBSIL FSA and Dependent DayCare accounts Life, AD&D, and Long Term Disability insurance IMRF contribution included in base salary 403B Yearly professional development allotmentEvaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District Professional Technical Evaluation process.
