Job Summary This position provides oversight and supervision of day-to-day operations within the Respiratory department, implementing and developing Respiratory Care Plans based on Clinical Practice Guidelines. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough respiratory assessments as needed, administering medications and delivering various clinical modalities as prescribed. Provide effective humidification of the respiratory system using aerosol therapy and related methods. Manage mechanical ventilators and monitoring devices for patients requiring ventilation support. Monitor the efficacy of treatment to assess improvement in patient conditions and protect against potential injuries. Recognize and report signs of abuse and neglect following appropriate protocols. Participate in patient rounds, responding proactively to improve patient outcomes and experiences. Communicate care plans clearly to patients and their families, ensuring understanding and empathy. Maintain effective communication with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to best meet patient needs. Promote a professional image and foster a caring environment, prioritizing safety, dignity, and privacy. Aid the Director in budget maintenance, capital equipment acquisition, and inventory management. Help improve operational efficiency and achieve performance metrics. Assist with staff oversight, including evaluations, training, and prioritizing workloads. Provide educational resources to staff, fostering teamwork and knowledge sharing. Commit to professional development and participate in continuous education initiatives. Qualifications Must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months of employment. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required within 30 days of employment. Neonate Resuscitation certification must be completed within 6 months. PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification is also necessary within 6 months. A minimum of an Associate Degree in relevant field. Certification as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT-State) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required.
