Endurance Solutions Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Therapist to join our team at our rehabilitation center in Ithaca, New York. Work Environment

The position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation center, which is equipped with modern facilities and cutting-edge rehabilitation technology. Our team works Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced professional life. The center provides a collaborative atmosphere where physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals work together to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical limitations, functional abilities, and mobility issues to develop tailored treatment plans that meet their specific needs.
• Design and implement an array of therapeutic exercises and interventions aimed at enhancing strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and endurance.
• Guide patients in relearning safe walking techniques, particularly after periods of immobilization or trauma, to foster confidence and independence.
• Develop and share strategies with patients and caregivers to significantly reduce fall risks, emphasizing education on prevention techniques.
• Administer pulmonary rehabilitation programs that assist patients with respiratory conditions in improving their breathing efficiency and overall exercise capacity.
• Collaborate closely with an integrated healthcare team, including nurses, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to create and execute comprehensive care plans that promote optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist residents in improving their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), ensuring a holistic approach to recovery.
• Incorporate cognitive rehabilitation activities into therapy sessions to maintain or enhance patients' mental functionalities, helping them regain cognitive skills lost due to injuries or illnesses.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, and chronic illnesses. Many patients come to us after significant health challenges, and it is our role to guide them through their rehabilitation with compassion and expertise. By providing individualized care, we help our patients relearn skills, regain strength, and move towards greater independence.

Qualifications

• A valid Physical Therapy license in the state of New York.
• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution being highly preferred.
• Clinical experience, particularly in a skilled nursing facility, is preferred but not mandatory.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, essential for collaborating with patients and other health professionals.
• Ability to create and implement patient-centered treatment plans that adapt to individual needs.
• A genuine passion for facilitating meaningful recovery in patients, coupled with enthusiasm for the rehabilitation process.
• Capability to work independently while effectively participating within a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience working in a rehabilitation center or skilled nursing facility is preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems is a plus, as it enables streamlined communication and documentation.

Compensation and Benefits
