Travel RN - Pediatric ICU

American Traveler is hiring a PICU RN for a 13-week nights assignment requiring at least 2 years of PICU experience, including 1 year in PCICU. Requirements Active WA or compact RN license BLS and PALS certifications required Minimum 2 years of PICU experience, including at least 1 year in PCICU Experience with cardiac patients, surgeries, and related diagnoses Skilled in aseptic/sterile technique, dressing changes, ventilator and trach management, and suctioning Experience with G/GJ/J-tube, NG tube, and chest tube management Experience with epidurals, PCA pumps, and drip management Foley insertion/management experience Central line dressing care and central line blood draw experience Peripheral lab draw and patient discharge experience ECMO and peritoneal dialysis experience preferred but not required CRRT and Prismaflex experience preferred for CRRT patient care Responsibilities 22-bed PICU within a 152-bed Level II Trauma Center with an average census of 10-11 patients per day Mixed PICU/PCICU population with predominantly PCICU patients, but may also care for general PICU patients Cardiovascular/thoracic patients with congenital heart defects, fresh open hearts, post-cath, and medical cardiac conditions such as CHF, cardiomyopathy, and myocarditis May also care for respiratory, surgical, medical, trauma, and post-cardiac arrest patients 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730), 36 hours per week Every other weekend rotation unless otherwise stated No on-call requirement, though low census standby may require being called in for a later portion of a shift Floating required to MedSurg, ED, or NICU for helping hand or sitter duties Epic EMR experience preferred Provide direct care to PICU/PCICU patients across a wide range of diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, surgical, and trauma cases Major facial wounds, eye injuries, penetrating trauma, solid organ transplants, major burns, VADs, and stem cell transplants are not managed at this facility An ECMO specialist manages the ECMO machine directly Scrub attire must be a solid professional color with no graphics, logos, or hoods, and long sleeves must be able to be pulled above the elbow Long hair must be worn up Team spirit attire is permitted on Fridays during football season First-time travelers will be considered for this position Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Job ID: P-760019 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
