Job Type Full-time Job Overview Join our team as a Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant functions as a pivotal member of the patient care team, performing medical assisting duties. Under general supervision, the Medical Assistant (MA) assists the provider with patient care and all back-office duties. Ensures smooth work and patient flow within the clinic. The primary work location will vary based on operational needs, and employees should be comfortable traveling between locations as needed. Requirements Essential Job Responsibilities Support physicians in delivering comprehensive patient care by anticipating needs and ensuring smooth workflow during examinations and treatments. Manage patient records, appointments, and insurance details meticulously to ensure accurate and efficient clinic operations. Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization in exam rooms and supply areas, adhering to infection control protocols for patient safety. Demonstrate strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality, while remaining prepared to respond effectively to emergencies as they arise. Perform a wide range of clinical tasks including obtaining vital signs, assisting with minor surgeries, and conducting laboratory procedures in accordance with established protocols and best practices. Actively engage in patient education initiatives, providing clear instructions on home care strategies and proper use of assistive devices to promote optimal recovery and wellness. Remain flexible and responsive to evolving clinic needs, readily taking on additional responsibilities as delegated by supervisors to support the team and enhance patient care delivery. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required. Completion of a medical assistant diploma or certification from an accredited vocational institution, or completion of a medical assisting course at a community college is preferred. Experience: One year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant preferred. Documented evidence of completion of an externship in a medical office is also desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in tasks such as taking vital signs, venipuncture, and injections is required. Performance Requirements Demonstrates knowledge of the healthcare field, medical office protocols, and procedures. Proficient in performing medical assistance tasks accurately and appropriately. Exhibits diplomacy and tact in interpersonal interactions. Capable of recognizing and addressing patient education needs through effective communication. Quick to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Maintains a pleasant and professional demeanor in a team-oriented environment. Skillful in planning, prioritizing, and completing delegated tasks efficiently. Shows compassion and empathy in interactions with patients and colleagues.
