Qualifications:

• Must live outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
• Minimum of two years' experience in a cardiovascular intensive care or cardiothoracic ICU setting
• Direct experience caring for fresh post-cardiac surgery patients
• Current and active RN license
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Prior hands-on experience working in EPIC charting systems is mandatory
• Demonstrated competency handling complex cases, including cardiac surgery, cardiogenic shock, and abdominal aortic aneurysms

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver expert nursing care to post-surgical cardiovascular patients in a specialized 6-bed CTICU
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, initiate critical interventions, and continuously monitor patients with high acuity needs
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
• Efficiently document medical information and updates using EPIC
• Respond swiftly to changes in patient condition, applying advanced clinical knowledge and critical thinking
• Provide education and support to patients and families throughout the treatment process
