Job Overview
Our plant in New Mexico is state of the art and we are seeking a Warehouse Lead responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient receipt, storage, and shipment of materials and finished goods. The Warehouse Lead will serve as a working leader by assisting with warehouse operations while supporting the Warehouse Supervisor in achieving operational goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
- Monitor workflow to ensure productivity, accuracy, and timely completion of work.
- Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, audits, and proper inventory transactions.
- Ensure all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and on schedule.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, as certified and required.
- Train new employees on warehouse procedures, safety practices, and company policies.
- Promote a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse in accordance with housekeeping standards.
- Assist in identifying and resolving operational issues and recommend process improvements.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, production personnel, customer service, and transportation providers to ensure efficient operations.
- Complete required documentation and maintain accurate warehouse records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience, including at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
- Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
- Working knowledge of inventory control, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
- Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or handheld RF scanners preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment.
- Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and environmental conditions.
Work Environment
This position works in a warehouse environment where exposure to moving equipment, machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures is common. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required
