Role Overview The Manager of Competitive Intelligence & Strategic Analytics will be the architect of a new era of insights at Scotts Miracle‑Gro (SMG). This is a high-visibility role designed to evolve the competitive function from a reactive data utility into a strategic navigator. You will be responsible for building a “single source of truth” for category data, identifying “win now” market opportunities, and forecasting the consumer landscape. This role is built for a visionary leader who uses advanced analytics to drive enterprise-wide strategy. Key Responsibilities Strategic Foresight & Executive Advisory Market Opportunity & Growth Analysis Data Strategy & Digital Transformation Required Technical Skills & Qualifications Data Expertise: Advanced proficiency in SQL, Tableau, Snowflake, Databricks to manage the strategic data foundation. CPG Analytics Mastery: Extensive experience with CPG syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen, IRI/Circana, NPD, Yipit, Numerator) and advanced Power Pivot/Excel modeling. Strategic Acumen: Proven ability to triangulate granular data (e.g., Yipit-to-internal share) into high-stakes business recommendations. Retail Dynamics: Deep understanding of both the traditional brick & mortar as well as e‑commerce shopping landscapes. Desired Attributes Intellectual Curiosity: A natural drive to move beyond “hindsight” to uncover hidden market opportunities and future threats. Operational Agility: The ability to maintain accuracy and speed while balancing long-term strategic projects with critical tactical needs. Influential Communication: Exceptional ability to map complex data insights directly back to brand strategy and executive-level decision‑making. The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $111,500.00 - $131,200.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. In addition to the determined base salary, this role is also incentive eligible under our corporate bonus programs. For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
