Job Title: Riverbat Bites Food Pantry Specialist (Hourly) Job Summary: To provide specialized services and support for campus food pantry operations, ensuring an organized and student-centered environment that promotes food security. Responsibilities Assist with daily pantry operations, including greeting and supporting students using pantry services. Provide information to students regarding pantry procedures, eligibility, and related Basic Needs resources. Review and process student check‑ins and maintain accurate usage data in tracking systems. Stock shelves, monitor inventory levels, and report shortages or excess items to the supervisor. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pantry, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Receive and organize deliveries, including lifting and moving food boxes up to 40 pounds. Assist with outreach activities and pantry‑related events as needed. Support the collection of data for reporting purposes. May provide guidance to student workers or volunteers assisting in the pantry. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Knowledge of processes and procedures related to food pantry operations and basic needs support. Knowledge of food safety standards and inventory management practices. Customer service or related experience preferred; experience in food service, warehouse, or retail environments; experience in student services or community resource setting. Maintaining an established work schedule; interpersonal and communication skills with tact and professionalism; organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow‑through; maintaining confidentiality of student information; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with multicultural student populations and staff. Proficiency with standard office software applications and ability to learn and use student check‑in systems and basic inventory tools. Physical Requirements and Safety Work performed in a food pantry setting; requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, and carrying; occasional lifting of objects up to 40 pounds. Must work safely and follow safety rules; report unsafe conditions and behaviors; take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
