Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Pediatric (RT PEDS) in a healthcare facility is responsible for delivering high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients. This role involves evaluating patient needs, administering treatments, operating ventilatory equipment, and providing patient education to ensure optimal respiratory health outcomes.

Job Details:

• Certifications: Must hold a valid respiratory therapist license with relevant pediatric specialty designation.
• Education Requirements: Completion of a respiratory therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or equivalent.
• Degree Requirements: An active respiratory therapist license.
• Location Requirements: Ability to work at the designated healthcare facility.
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 0 years.
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include performing routine respiratory treatments, operating ventilatory and aerosol equipment, managing invasive and non-invasive procedures, conducting patient assessments, performing advanced airway management including endotracheal tube insertion/removal, and maintaining accurate documentation of all treatments and patient responses.
• Additional duties involve assisting with laboratory testing procedures, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines, and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
• Candidates should be prepared to communicate effectively with medical staff and patients, and to adhere to all policies related to patient care and safety.
