SUMMARY Responsible for complete restaurant operations, including ensuring great food and beverage, atmosphere, service, and staff. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Reading, writing, basic math, and excellent verbal communication skills required. Flexible scheduling and availability. Responsible, dependable, and flexible in scheduling. Able to respond in emergencies to avoid imminent dangers to self and others. Capable of using computers and point‑of‑sale systems. Capable of using knives and other food preparation equipment. Able to perform the essential functions in the following positions: Host, Server, Bartender, Expo/Food Runner, Cook, and Busser/DMO. Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to employees and guests. Mobility is required during the entire shift. Previous reviews in good standing. Current PIC or ServSafe certification. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES I. Financial planning and performance of the restaurant Maintains weekly budget and reporting process by establishing company deadlines and procedures. Responsible for achieving the restaurant’s financial operating plan, to include controllable costs, sales projections, and operating profit. Prepares annual plans for the restaurant, including forecasts, goals, and strategies to achieve company expectations. Responsible for restaurant policies and procedures designed to affect control of restaurant costs and expenses. Customarily exercises discretion and independent judgment to ensure sound operations. II. Development, performance, and morale of restaurant management team and staff Ensures performance reviews occur for the management team and staff as the company standard requires. Ensures that the management team meets standards of performance by Barrio Tacos Competency and Task Review. Assists in creating action plans and individual development plans through the utilization of each member of the management team. Schedules and holds the management team accountable for participation in monthly management seminars. Holds the management team accountable for developing staff members using Barrio Tacos training materials. Focuses on retaining quality employees by providing opportunities for growth and development. Makes recommendations that are given particular weight for hiring and firing other employees within the respective restaurant. Builds relationships, supervises, coaches, and mentors the management team and staff, adding value to the restaurant. Implements recognition programs to reward employee contributions toward Barrio Tacos' goals and objectives. III. Compliance with Barrio Tacos standards, procedures, and policies Provides a leadership climate that promotes fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures. Maintains the company's performance and behavior expectations in the restaurant, as established in the employee handbook and standard operating manual. Ensures that required operating and policy manuals are maintained and available at the restaurant. Ensure that Barrio Tacos' safety and security policies are communicated and enforced. Works closely with the management team to enforce adherence to Barrio Tacos specs and standards. Must be reliable and punctual when reporting for work as scheduled. IV. Compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations Maintains the posting of all legal documentation and information necessary for compliance. Maintains all permits necessary to operate. Ensures legal requirements are communicated and acknowledged by the management team and staff. Corrects any variances to local board of health inspections within 24 hours of notification. Ensures completion of all required documentation in compliance with payroll, labor laws, and personnel policies. V. Promotions, community relations, and local store marketing Implements in‑store promotions and specials to Barrio Tacos standards. Builds community relations to maintain Barrio Tacos' reputation and involvement within the local community. Communicates with Director of Operations regarding any marketing or promotional activities before implementation. VI. Appearance and maintenance of restaurant and restaurant equipment Delegates to the management team and staff are responsible for creating a great atmosphere by monitoring lighting, sound, TVs, and HVAC. Upholds Barrio Tacos' cleanliness standards through employee accountability and the utilization of restaurant checklists. Facilitates store evaluation preparation and takes corrective action to variances within an established time frame. Directs a preventative maintenance program and ensures the existence of the maintenance log within the restaurant. Maintains existing contracts and warranties on equipment and services in the restaurant. VII. Guest service and satisfaction Demonstrates passion for service by maintaining a high profile on the floor and establishing customer contact in the front‑of‑house. Maintains standards of quality product and service as determined by Barrio Tacos systems and procedures. Responds to guest complaints within 24 hours of receipt. Performs “concurrent duties” of non‑exempt tasks during appropriate times to ensure guest satisfaction while in charge. VIII. Maintains communication within the restaurant Effectively communicates pertinent information to staff and management team through communication memos, postings, newsletters, and shift meetings to ensure awareness. Facilitates meetings with the management team a minimum of once a week. Ensures trainer meetings are held according to Barrio Tacos' expectations. Conduct roundtables within the restaurant to solicit management and staff feedback. Makes time for one‑on‑ones and holds the management team accountable for their completion. Maintains confidentiality of all Company information and is forthcoming in reporting all policy or procedure violations or wrongdoing to the Area Director. IX. Limits of authority The area director may approve no expenditures in excess of $100, other than for the supplies necessary for the restaurant's ongoing operation. May not sign contracts on behalf of the company. May not accept payment for goods or services from any purveyor or gratuity from a guest without permission from the Area Director. #J-18808-Ljbffr
