Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care within a challenging environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background and experience in handling a diverse patient population, including those in correctional settings. This role requires adaptability, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient needs are met.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients while adhering to facility policies and procedures.
• Monitor and manage patients with various conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-surgical recovery.
• Utilize essential nursing skills including IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of ventilated patients.
• Participate in the care of patients within stepdown and ICU environments, ensuring appropriate patient ratios.
• Assist with bedside procedures and support the rapid response and code blue team as needed.
• Engage in the holiday rotation, working during designated holiday shifts as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CPI or MAB accepted.
• Experience in a correctional environment preferred.
• Proficient with electronic medical records and charting systems.
• Ability to manage patients within a lower acuity setting effectively.

Skills Required

• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
• Experience in managing complex patient care scenarios.
• Natural ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining composure.
• Experience in caring for adults and geriatric populations.
• Capable of performing essential nursing tasks such as IV management and arterial line care.

Additional Information

This role may require floating to areas with varying patient populations, and nurses are expected to maintain the integrity and dignity of all patients in care. Adherence to security protocols is necessary when working within the correctional facility.
