Come Save Lives With Us!HIRING HOURLY: $22.22 or higher based on experienceOPEN UNTIL FILLED – APPLICATION REVIEW BEGINS IMMEDIATELYDuties and ResponsibilitiesCharleston County Consolidated Emergency Communications Center Public Safety Telecommunicators receive and process incoming emergency, non-emergency, and administrative calls and dispatch calls for service to law enforcement, fire agencies, and emergency medical services.Shift Requirements:Public Safety Telecommunicators work full-time, a 12.25-hour shift with overtime. The regular schedule requires an average of 57 hours each week. An essential function of this position is the ability to work any shift, therefore, we cannot guarantee assignment to a particular shift. To support the 24/7 operation of the CCCECC, Public Safety Telecommunicators are expected to work nights, weekends, holidays, and all scheduled and unscheduled overtime. This position requires in person attendance. This schedule may be different during classroom and on-the-job training. Employees are expected to report to work as called upon during departmental activation and be prepared to stay during the duration of the event.Minimum QualificationsNon-Negotiables:Have a positive attitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate well to a diverse group of people.Be able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
