Department Civil/Municipal Location Maumee, OH Position Civil Engineer I Due to continued growth, MSG is seeking a Civil Engineer I to support our engineering team in Maumee, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience working on land development, municipal, and infrastructure projects while learning from experienced engineers in a collaborative environment. You’ll be involved in all stages of project development—from design and permitting through field support and construction documentation—with mentorship and support for professional growth and licensure. Key Responsibilities Develop civil engineering designs and drawings including site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadways using AutoCAD Civil 3D Assist with permitting and regulatory compliance, including preparation of applications to local, state, and federal agencies Prepare engineering calculations, feasibility studies, and technical reports to support design decisions Collaborate with project managers, surveyors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver coordinated solutions Support stormwater management and drainage design (software experience a plus) Participate in site visits and field inspections to verify design implementation and support issue resolution Maintain organized project files and documentation Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field 0–3 years of civil engineering design experience (land development or municipal projects preferred) Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software Interest in stormwater management and site development design EIT certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary environment Motivation to grow professionally and pursue licensure (PE a plus) Benefits 401(k) with company match Health insurance with HSA option, Vision, Dental, Life Flexible schedule Paid time off Referral program Tuition reimbursement Catalytic Coaching – Employees draft a development plan aimed at improving contributions in their current job and increasing the potential for other opportunities.
