Fabricator / Machine Operator

Location: Harlan, IA | Onsite Schedule: 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. MMC Group is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Fabricator / Machine Operator for a manufacturing opportunity in Harlan, Iowa. Candidates must currently reside within 30 miles of Harlan, IA to be considered. What You’ll Do Set up, adjust, and operate fabrication equipment, including CNC press brakes, metal rollers, punch presses, shears, saws, drills, and grinders. Read blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and production instructions. Use calipers, micrometers, squares, and gauges to verify dimensions and quality. Inspect materials and finished components to ensure they meet specifications. Make machine adjustments and perform basic troubleshooting. Record production quantities, inventory transactions, and labor hours using computerized systems. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes after completing required training and certification. Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow established safety procedures. What We’re Looking For High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience. Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret blueprints, work orders, and operating instructions. Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, measurements, and metric conversions. Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently and with a team. Willingness to complete in-house forklift and overhead crane certification training. Preferred Experience 1–2 years of manufacturing, metal fabrication, or machine operation experience. Experience with CNC press brakes, punch presses, metal rollers, or similar equipment. Familiarity with precision measuring tools and ERP or computerized production systems. Welding experience is a plus. Training will be provided on specialized equipment. Physical Requirements This position involves extended standing and walking, bending, reaching, stooping, repetitive movements, and lifting or handling materials in a manufacturing environment.
