You will be responsible for developing scalable processes, leading cross-functional teams, improving operational efficiency, managing financial performance, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. Key Responsibilities of a VP of Operations: Strategic Leadership Develop and execute operational strategies that support company objectives and long-term growth. Establish performance goals and key operational benchmarks across departments. Align operational initiatives with company priorities and business plans. Drive innovation, process improvements, and organizational effectiveness. Lead change management initiatives that support scalability and operational excellence. Operational Management Provide executive oversight of daily transportation and service operations. Ensure operational consistency, efficiency, and high-quality service delivery. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, productivity, and resource utilization. Implement best practices that drive operational performance and long-term success. Monitor operational performance through reporting, analytics, and key performance indicators. Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop operational leadership teams. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Support leadership development and succession planning efforts. Partner with department leaders to improve employee engagement and retention. Build high-performing teams focused on achieving organizational goals. Financial Management Oversee operational budgets and financial performance. Support forecasting, planning, and resource allocation initiatives. Analyze business performance and identify opportunities to increase profitability. Implement cost-control measures while maintaining service excellence. Ensure operational decisions align with financial objectives. Fleet & Asset Oversight Monitor fleet utilization, operational readiness, and asset performance. Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to maximize efficiency and reliability. Support planning efforts related to fleet growth and expansion. Evaluate operational resources and recommend improvements when necessary. Drive initiatives that improve productivity and reduce operational downtime. Safety, Compliance & Risk Management Champion a company-wide commitment to safety and compliance. Ensure adherence to company policies, operational procedures, and industry regulations. Oversee safety programs, risk management initiatives, and compliance efforts. Monitor operational incidents and implement corrective action plans. Maintain readiness for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews. Customer Experience & Business Growth Support operational strategies that enhance customer satisfaction and service quality. Strengthen relationships with key customers, business partners, and stakeholders. Collaborate with leadership on market expansion and growth opportunities. Support business development initiatives through operational planning and execution. Represent the organization with professionalism and integrity. Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement Review operational metrics and identify trends affecting performance. Develop action plans to improve productivity, efficiency, and service outcomes. Utilize data-driven decision-making to support continuous improvement. Present operational results, recommendations, and strategic updates to executive leadership. Ensure departments remain focused on achieving key business objectives. Qualifications of a VP of Operations: Required Experience 7+ years of senior leadership experience in operations, transportation, logistics, fleet management, or a related industry. Proven success leading large-scale operations and cross-functional teams. Strong background in strategic planning, operational improvement, and organizational leadership. Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and business growth initiatives. Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive measurable results. Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills. Preferred Experience Executive leadership experience in transportation, mobility, logistics, service operations, or fleet-based organizations. Experience managing multi-site or geographically dispersed operations. Knowledge of regulatory compliance, safety management, and operational best practices. Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
