Job Summary:

We are seeking a Phlebotomist I to join our team in Long Beach, CA. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization by providing exceptional patient care while performing specimen collection and processing. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe, accurate, and positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
Prepare, label, process, and package specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures.
Verify patient identity and explain collection procedures to ensure patient comfort and confidence.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure specimen integrity throughout the collection process.
Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection following company policies and regulatory guidelines.
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
Protect patient confidentiality, comply with HIPAA, and company policies.
Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to quality and process excellence.
Complete assigned duties accurately and within established turnaround times.
Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

Qualifications:
Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Basic computer and keyboard/data entry proficiency.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as needed.
California Phlebotomy Certification (Required).

Preferred:

Medical Assistant or Paramedic training.
Previous customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment.
Prior laboratory or specimen processing experience.
