Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee key accounting functions while serving as a hands‑on contributor across financial reporting, month‑end close, payroll administration, and process improvement initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, support strategic business decisions, and help strengthen accounting operations within a growing organization. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys both managing day‑to‑day accounting functions and driving operational efficiencies. Prior payroll experience is required. Key Responsibilities Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Oversee payroll processing, payroll reconciliations, payroll tax compliance, and related reporting activities. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures. Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide recommendations to management. Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee balance sheet reconciliations. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting. Coordinate annual audits and support external auditors with requested documentation. Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased efficiency within accounting and payroll functions. Partner with HR and leadership on compensation, payroll, benefits, and employee‑related accounting matters. Support special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar role. Demonstrated experience overseeing payroll processing and payroll‑related compliance. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization. CPA designation or CPA track is a plus. Preferred Experience Experience managing month‑end close in a fast‑paced environment. Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Experience improving accounting processes and implementing controls.
